The Zeiss Plan Apo 63x/1.40 oil is Zeiss' flagship objective lens for high resolution imaging.  Extremely high numerical aperture, wide field of view, excellent fluorescence sensitivity, apochromatically color corrected and perfectly flat edge to edge.  

This is a special individually serial numbered version of the objective with a documented Strehl Ratio > 90%.  Strehl ratio is a measure of optical correction.  A theoretically perfect optic with zero aberrations would have a Strehl Ratio of 1.0.  This high Strehl Ratio objective is therfore ideal for LSM/confocal, deconvolution or other quantitative 3D work where an ideal point spread function is mandatory.
